Alta, WY is a Census Designated Place (CDP) in Teton County, Wyoming. It is very rural and the population is well below 500. However, for many this is a welcome change from the busy, tourist activities at nearby ski lodges and resorts. Summer activities in Jackson Hole include the Teton County fair, hiking, horseback riding, rodeos and ATVing and fishing while the winter activities are almost always centered on snow. This destination is so popular because of the wide variety of things to do and the family-friendly environment.
